GGL Wire got the opportunity to sit down with one of the most successful Warcraft 3 players in 2007, Olav “Creolophus” Undheim. The Four Kings Night Elf player has joined the ranks of the world’s elite players by finishing second in the Electronic Sports World Cup and winning the BattleNet Season V finals at Blizzcon, but is going into retirement in order to focus on college.

Is money, fame, traveling around the world not appealing to him? And if he does not have enough passion for gaming, then how did he get to the very top in the first place? How […]

Called “Go Pro With Razer,” the program promises a bevy of different sponsorship levels to selected gamers, including apparel, product sponsorships to live events, and salaries.

In order to land these deals, you need to meet certain requirements. First, you need to be using Razer peripherals already. Second, you need to place top three in three live gaming events. Additionally, the winning team in the World in […]

Microsoft and FOX have signed an agreement, and Family Guy is only the first of many shows coming to the online service for the Xbox 360 console. Episodes will cost 160 points ($2.00), which is slightly more than you’d pay if you bought the DVD sets on Amazon.

Episodes from the first two seasons will be available for download to your 360 hard drive; plus the 90-minute Family Guy Presents: Stewie Griffin - The Untold […]

John Woo’s Stranglehold is officially gold on the Xbox 360 platform and will hit stores Sept. 14, while the PlayStation 3 and PC versions are slightly delayed.

Stranglehold follows Tequila, played by Chow Yun Fat, as he tries to unravel the mystery behind the kidnapping of a policeman. It’s a prequel to John Woo’s Hard Boiled, and promises […]

Additionally, you’ll be able to get the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit, which includes the Chatpad that allows you to send text messages easily, plus a unique headset that connects to it. That’s $30.

While our own Carmac gave his thoughts on Unreal Tournament 3 vs Team Fortress 2, GGL’s ClanBase took a look at just what exactly this anticipated next step in the UT franchise has to offer. Take a gander at the main piece or the highlights after the jump.

The once multi-platform (but always PlayStation 3 first) first-person shooter Haze from Free Radical is now making the shift to PS3 only. So was there confusion or a real shift in development? Ubisoft, the game’s publisher, sounded off.

Blizzard was kind enough to release a small new nugget of information recently with some game you may have heard of called StarCraft II … apparently it’s a big deal. As an addition to the Terran clan, Thor is a recently revealed unit that you may come to know and love as a player.

OK, so it’s not gameplay footage, but it is something. The CPL today released the first concept art from Severity, showing us rabid gamers the art style they’re going for.

The CPL added in a statement: “Visitors of the Summer 2007 CPL Event will be treated to a few Severity images including an environmental concept that should assist gamers in visualizing the look and feel of the game. Additionally, the rock band Superstring will perform a song written for the game during their live concert.”

GGL Wire has managed to talk to two people that have been making money playing the Unreal Tournament franchise for years about their impressions of UT3. The victims were two German gamers from Mousesports - Ulrich “daddy” Scheller and Klaus “frag^m” Wiedemann, participants or even winners of competitions like the CPL and ESWC and the ClanBase EuropCup.

Here’s what they had to say:
