Update: Euro PS3 version of Stranglehold delayed

Update: The delay of Stranglehold PS3 is for the European version only. The U.S version is still on track for a Sep. 17 release.

The horrible experience of using Unreal Engine 3 continues for developers and publishers as Midway has come out and said that the PlayStation 3 version of Stranglehold is now on hold for an unknown amount of time. The PC and Xbox 360 version drops on Aug. 27.

It seems like an epidemic now with delays related to Unreal Engine 3. Other UE3-enabled PS3 titles that were delayed include: Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW 2, Fatal Inertia and Medal of Honor: Airborne.

A few questions arise: Will Epic get their act together before iD’s Tech 5 engine becomes the go-to product? Is this a PS3 issue or another case of Epic holding back with Unreal support? And, will Unreal Tournament III be affected in any way? We shall see.
