Crytek, makers of Far Cry and the upcoming Crysis, may be forced to leave Germany if the country enacts a proposed ban on “killer” game production.
Avni Yerli, founder of Crytek, told Welt Online: “Budapest is a lovely city. We already have a branch office there,” when speaking about the potential relocation. England, Scotland, Austria and Singapore are also on the list.
Crytek is Germany’s largest developer, but a tightly regulated environment may choke innovation in the country. Other nations will be glad to step up with inventives and tax breaks.
