CoX player wins ‘Who Wants To Be A Superhero?’

Long-time City of Heroes player Jarrett “The Defuser” Crippen won the television reality show Who Wants To Be A Superhero on September 6th.

About The Defuser:

Superpowers: A loner and expert at gadgetry and invention, his specialty is non-lethal weaponry. His powers include enhanced speed, strength, agility, reflexes, hearing and eyesight. He also has night vision to a range of 60 feet.

Vulnerability: Sensitivity to bright light — he must wear protective eyewear in intense sunlight. Without them, he risks being blinded. He refuses to use firearms.

Nemesis: Drug dealers

Catch Phrase: “When the Defuser’s around, bad guys are going down!”

Crippen is a 38-year-old police detective from Austin, Texas. City of Heroes and City of Villains (CoX) producer NCSoft identified Crippen as the player of a character called Detective2416.

The Defuser character will be the subject of a Dark Horse Comics comic book written by Stan Lee, and will appear in a Sci Fi channel movie.
