OK, I get it. You’ve been hit over the head with the Call of Duty 4 create-a-class and perk systems so many times that you can’t remember your own name.
However, there’s more to Call of Duty 4 than just those two features. In an interview with Gameriot, Infinity Ward Community Manager Robert Bowling gave CoD fans some more tantalizing details about the game.
He dropped this hot potato about a broadcast spectator mode:
We’ve been looking into CoDTV very heavily, we had Garetjax out to the studios fairly early in development to check out the game and talk with us about CoDTV and how we could incorporate it into Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It’s something that we’re looking at, something we’ve been seeing what’s the best way to approach it, and something we’re still working on, personally I totally agree that it’s a great resource for competitive play.
Also, much to my chagrin, Bowling confirmed that CoD4 will have EvenBalance anti-cheat (presumably PunkBuster) out of the box. I don’t say this because I’m a cheater, but because I think Punkbuster doesn’t work.
