Last night, Gameriot’s Rod Breslau posted a news item with the names and logos of the new Championship Gaming Series franchises, beating the CGS itself to it. Following GR, several other sites posted the news.
The CGS has taken action to have news about the names and teams removed. Gameriot and ESReality (a site owned by London GM Sujoy Roy) have been friendly enough to remove their articles. Others, like SK Gaming, Fragbite and Readmore did not do so. SK Gaming also suggested bribery on CGS’s part.
The names of the teams and managers are as follows:
Mexico City Furia - Augusto ‘NoobZaibot’ Zapata Delgado

Rio Sinistro - Paulo ‘pvell’ Velloso

London Mint - Sujoy Roy

Birmingham Salvo - Michael ‘ODEE’ O’Dell

Berlin Allianz - Jonas ‘bsl’ Vikan

Stockholm Magnetik - Emil ‘Heaton’ Christensen

They look so much like basketball logos lol.
I like them tho, much better then US ones.
hm, i remember a german cs clan which had “allianz” in their name. it was forced to drop the name, give up their domain and stuff by the “Allianz” insurance company (www.allianz.de/).
since i assume they just used typical corporate force rather than real law vs the clan (Allianz is a not uncommon normal word, they shouldnt have the exclusive rights to it), i hope cgs keeps the name if just to annoy the insurance company.
They all have WICKED names.
Except for the UK.

Not sure if they can actually use the name Allianz, but that’s another story.
‘have been friendly enough to remove their articles’
Nice wording! Sensationalism > * though
