Germany’s videogame review board, USK, is notorious for not allowing certain titles in the former Third Reich to be sold and it seems that it is time to add Clive Barker’s Jericho to that list. With games like Manhunt 2 and Gears of War banned, it’s actually no surprise that the gore fest that is Jericho was denied the right to see the light of day in Germany. The German news site Heise confirmed that the Codemasters title had just too many “brutal scenes” for the fragile eyes of the German youth. As a result of this ban, the game will not be allowed to be sold either in retail or online and it will not be allowed to be advertised anywhere in Germany. Ouch.

Not a big deal anyway.
I’m kind of surprised they don’t release a cut version, thats definitely the way to go. I am almost disappointed sometimes that publishers give in to the bullshit law here and release some miscreated, censored disfigurement of a title.
“Following a review by the USK ratings board, which declined to give an official rating, Codemasters has decided not to change the artistic vision of the renowned author and film-maker Clive Barker though cuts and extensive changes,”
Is why they don’t want to release a cut version.
from what I’ve read, when USK bans a game it can’t be advertised but it can be sold to people over 18, what happens is that since the game can’t be advertised many retailers don’t sell it
Yep ashn0d, true. You can still ask the retailer of choice and if you’re lucky they will have some copies ander the table. They aren’t allowed to display the game on shelves or anything so most of them won’t bother ordering them.
