PSP Slim and Lite sales prove Japanese love small things

psp_slims.jpgSimilar to the staggering sales domination the DS Lite has had over in Japan, Sony’s redesigned PSP is experiencing the same kind of early success. According to Sony, PSP Slim and Lite sales have climbed to 580,000 since being released on Sept. 13. Sparking the craze hasn’t just been the unit itself, however, as all 77,777 Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII special edition PSPs have been sold out. Shocker? Not really. Considering how well a redesigned DS did in Japan, it was obvious the PSP might experience the same effect — especially with a Final Fantasy title to piggyback on.
