The first few matches of MBC StarLeague’s round of 16 playoffs are complete, with Korean StarCraft luminaries going to battle in one of the world’s most prestigious leagues.
These guys didn’t take a break after the World Cyber Games 2007 Grand Final, and there’s video evidence to prove it. Video on demand of these matches is available at TeamLiquid.net through a Bit Torrent file.

The round of 16 continues Oct. 13 at 11:30 Seoul time (GMT +9) as iloveoov battles Mind in a Terran mirror match, free (Protoss) takes on Lomo (Terran), WCG Korea team member Hwasin (Terran) faces off against Bisu (Protoss) and Nal_rA (Protoss) sizes up fOrGG (Terran).

Update: As Virii pointed out below, these matches are best of three, and these were just the first map matches. The second and third (if necessary) have yet to take place, so no one is yet eliminated.

There were TONS of upsets.
Savior beats the WCG Champion, days after he won the gold medal?
Kwanro beats Light? The guy that took Hwasin into a 90 minute match and won,
JulyZerg, last years WCG Silver Medal winner, losing to TheMania was huge also.
Don’t forget though, these are best of 3 matches, next week they play the second and (if needed) third match. So these players aren’t out yet, but soon some of them will be!
