Rocket Launcher is UT3’s best weapon

EnemyDown.co.uk has published statistics for the Unreal Tournament 3 demo. They seem to reveal that the best weapon in the game is the Rocket Launcher. Most players from the world’s top 10 ranking have the highest kill percentage with the so-called “8-ball.”

Other weapons that seem to be causing a lot of death in the UT3 world are the Stinger Minigun and the Shock Rifle (the Shock Combo in particular). Naturally, the weapon statistics were gathered in public games and in different game types, but the numbers are very similar with all top players.
Interestingly, one of the highest-ranked players right now is Nick “eVeNfLoW” McCabe, the 2002 World Cyber Games silver medalist for UT. His name is right outside of the world top 10, with an ELO rating of 1591. His best weapons are the Rocket Launcher and the Stinger. The WCG 2003 champion for UT2003, Nicola “ForresT” Geretti sports a similar record.

That the RL seems to be the most useful weapon is good news, because this suggests that UT3 will be more tactical, positional and will favor intelligent players over aimers. The statistics can be found here.
