Counter-Strike 1.6 superstar Ola “elemeNt” Moum will no longer play for Meet Your Makers. The Danish organization released the player of his contractual duties today.
According to MYM, a new role in the organization that does not involve playing or coaching is being discussed with elemeNt. This could mean that the Norwegian legend would end his turbulent career as a player.
Due to what was quoted as personal reasons, elemeNt was not part of the MYM CS squad in the last few weeks. He did not practice with the team and missed the World Cyber Games finals and the Extreme Masters II invitational in Los Angeles this month. His stand-in for those events was Geir-Stian “juve9le” Svendsen, now signed permanently for MYM.
In his prime, elemeNt was voted the CS Revelation of 2002 and the CS Player of 2002 and 2003 by the gaming press. He was a part of teams like eoLithic, SK Gaming, Team NoA, Four Kings, Made in Brazil, Mousesports and a couple of others. He was one of the most popular and controversial players in the history of Counter-Strike.
Below is GGL’s most recent interview with elemeNt (March 2007):
