The ESRB spreads the word across Deleware
Today, Delaware Lieutenant Governor John Carney and State representative Helene Keeley announced that they will be working with The Entertainment Software Ratings Board to kick start a new Public Service Announcement campaign. This campaign is designed to explain the videogame rating system to parents.
Be on the lookout for mall kiosks, billboards and radio spots in the coming months.
Carney said: “With two sons of my own, I know about the tough decisions parents face today about the media they allow into their homes. The simple fact is that there’s no substitute for parental involvement, so it’s important that parents play an active role in choosing games for their children. The ESRB ratings help parents ensure that they are bringing home suitable games for their families.”
I’m pretty happy with this news. Most of the flak videogames get could be avoided if the parents were informed. Hopefully this will resolve some of these issues, but more initiatives will be needed in all states to really make an impact.

The first people to place blame on video games when something happens is parents. They need to understand that shit wouldn’t happen if all the parents stopped whining about other people’s children, and used the time taking care of their own.
