Jeff Bell, the Corporate Vice President of Global Marketing for the Xbox 360, recently announced that BioWare’s new rpg, Mass Effect, has sold 1 million copies world wide in under three weeks. It was predicted by simExchange, a videogame prediction market, that Mass Effect would only sell only 328,000 copies in November.

You can be sure that Microsoft is trying to get exclusive rights to the Mass Effect franchise. That might be difficult, however, because Bioware/Pandemic was recently purchased by Electronic Arts, which means that EA now owns the IP. Microsoft has stated: “we’ll be talking to EA and BioWare in the weeks to come.”
