MYM loses Counter-Strike team — will PGS replace them?
Meet Your Makers has said goodbye to its Norwegian Counter-Strike team. This re-opens the question of whether or not MYM is interested in PGS Gaming’s CS squad.
For months, MYM has tried to build a successful lineup with Norwegian players. Despite having some of the biggest Scandinavian names in the game, the team never brought the kind of success MYM was looking for. The team had it coming for a long time.

Will the PGS manager sit alone?
The Norwegians were supposed to be axed before the World Cyber Games finals, when MYM made an offer to PGS Gaming’s CS team. The Polish lineup seemed like a very good choice, given their performances from the past year - they were the WCG 2006, Extreme Masters and ESWC champions. PGS Gaming responded by promising their players a raise, so the team stayed.
Problems started piling up on the PGS front after the World Cyber Games. Online gaming sites in Poland posted news on how the team went to Los Angeles for the Extreme Masters tournament a week after the WCG in Seattle and but ended up having to pay for food and accommodation on their own, to be reimbursed weeks after. The results were very poor as well.
When PGS came back to Poland, they found that Head Manager Filip “Ryan” Kasprowicz resigned to focus on his studies, leaving all the team’s problems to someone else. According to cybersport.pl, the team’s players got into public arguments with the writing staff of PGS’s website, and an interview with Filip “NEO” Kubski did not make it past the management’s censorship.
The website also reports that the management is as tired of the players as the players are of the management, and that Meet Your Makers are back in the frame to hire them.
It seems likely that this is the case, especially with MYM offloading their current CS team (probably at the end of the contract). But in the depths of cyberspace, MYM’s manager Mark Peter Fries wrote a comment stating that “there will be no CS 1.6 team in MYM anymore, we will instead go the ways of CoD4, a team will be announced within the next days.“
So… will PGS or will they not be left without a CS team?
