Meet Your Makers picks up PGS’s CS team
It was announced today that Meet Your Makers is the new home for the former Counter-Strike team of PGS Gaming.
MYM let go of their Norwegian team last week to free the space for Lukasz “LUq” Wnek, Filip “NEO” Kubski, Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas, Mariusz “Loord” Cybulski and Kuba “kuben” Gurczynski. Those players have been one of most dominant forces in modern Counter-Strike, right next to Fnatic.
Meet Your Makers were in dire need of a good CS team for a long time. They approached PGS about signing the team before the World Cyber Games, but PGS Gaming was said to have asked for 300,000 Euro for the players, according to the Polish esports press. The transfer did not take place then, and the PGS team went on to have two dreadful major tournaments in a row.
Bad results and problems within the organization have caused the players and the management within PGS Gaming to rethink their relationship and the end effect was the dissolution of the team.
MYM ended up having one of the world’s best teams for free, so it is a very good deal for the organization and the players too. One thing that may worry the players is the so-called MYM curse. Regardless of how good the players were on MYM, they never managed to win anything.
Will the Poles overcome that?

I think everyone saw this coming, no matter how much MYM denied it.

Nope, I can’t see MYM winning anything while NoA, MiBr, SK and fnatic are playing so well.
