Within the last three months of the previous year, Microsoft sold over 4.3 million Xbox 360s, bringing the grand total of units sold worldwide to 17.7 million.
The success of the 360 can be largely attributed to the many exclusive platform hits that were released throughout this last year; the final installment of the scientific-fiction shooter, Halo 3, sold over 8.1 million copies by the end of the year. Mass Effect, an overwhelmingly popular RPG/FPS hybrid, sold over 1.6 million copies since its late November release.
For many gamers, these numbers, which were released prior to Microsoft’s annual Consumer Electronic Show earlier this week, are no surprise. Still, will these numbers hold up when the PlayStation 3 gets its blockbuster exclusives? We’ll find out as the months go on in 2008.

Hey buddy, sorry to hear this is frustrating you.
Several of us have the wire setup as a feed into various RSS readers and we are not seeing any behavior like you are describing… we’re using Netvibes and Google Homepage.
What RSS reader are you using? If you have any screenshots please email them to jasoncarlton@gmail.com and we’ll look into it.
Thanks,
