Major Rock Band patch this week

It has been announced that sometime this week, Harmonix will release a patch for Rock Band that has some pretty big changes.

First off, a fully integrated music store will be added to the main menu. The store will allow gamers to preview and purchase downloadable tracks. When browsing songs in the music store, gamers will now be able to see the difficulty of the song as it relates to each instrument.

Other changes in the patch include an increase in the number of fans possible before players reach a cap. Now you can get the “One Million Fans” achievement when playing on Hard difficulty. There will be an increase in variety in World Tour mode. The phoneme recognition will be improved. The PS3’s microphone latency has been improved. On the Xbox 360, band logos can now be seen when playing on Xbox Live. Lastly, there will be faster loading DLC.

All in all this seems like a pretty big patch. Let’s hope those full album downloads arrive shortly.
