Recently 2K Sports announced that Rick Nash, captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets, will be featured on the cover of NHL 2K9. Nash, a fan of hockey video games, said: “My idols have all been on the covers of video games as I was growing up, so to be on the cover of NHL 2K9 myself is truly incredible. The set of new features they’re adding is really going to make this game special for hockey fans - I’m hoping they give me a couple extra points to my player rating […]

Word on the net is EA is planning on releasing a Rock Band 2 at some point. What evidence do we have? Other than Rock Band being one of the most lucrative games of last year, EA has been conducting surveys about Rock Band 2.

According to the survey, Rock Band 2 will be a full game, not just an expansion pack. It will make a leap in difficulty, much like Guitar Hero to Guitar Hero II. One of the questions dealt with pricing. Apparently EA is kicking […]

Today Sony announced that 20 new user-generated levels for echochrome will be made available for download between today, May 15 though May 21. Sony went on to say that these new levels may be replaced with more new content in the following weeks.

The additional levels will show up randomly when playing in freeform mode, when the difficulty is set to level 2 or 3.

I really like how Sony is quick to put out DLC for echochrome, however I can’t say I agree with content replacing itself every […]

Today Sony announced the first batch of DLC for Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds. Sony oped out from doing the logical thing and releasing a new course, instead they are offering two new female characters. Gloria returns to the franchise bringing her expert skill level, and newcomer Alex makes her debut at the intermediate level.

Both characters will cost you $.99 a piece, a small amount to pay for some golfing babes. The DLC will be available tomorrow on the PlayStation store.

Today Microsoft announced two new Xbox Originals that will be hitting Xbox Live Marketplace May 19. The two games are Stubbs the Zombie Rebel Without a Pulse and Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows.

Now I can’t speak for Gauntlet because I never played it, but Stubbs is a fantastic game. Anyone who has a sense of humor and a love for zombies wont be let down. I can’t recommend this game enough. You play as Stubbs, a newly undead zombie, who terrorizes a futuristic 1950’s city. As you eat more brains, you get more […]

Today Hothead Games announced that the first episode of Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness will be available for download May 21. It will be released on Xbox Live, as well as on Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux users.

According to the press release: “On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is an RPG-Adventure game set in the comic-book-meets-pulp-horror-meets-H.P. Lovecraft deranged 1920s universe of New Arcadia, delivering mature and compelling entertainment to gamers via accessible episodic delivery.”

Sounds pretty cool if you ask me. As someone […]

Today LucasArts announced that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will not be coming out on PC. According to Cameron Suey, producer of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: “[If we made the game for high-end PCs], someone with a low-end PC would have a watered down experience, they would have to turn all the settings down and it wouldn’t be the same game. On the other hand if we made that game for as many people as possible then it’s not taking advantage of what those $4,000 systems […]

This week’s Rock Band DLC has a little more street cred that last weeks. Featuring master tracks from three classic artists, this weeks DLC promises not to disappoint. Without any further ado, this weeks downloadable songs are:

“Hanging on the Telephone” by Blondie
“Train in Vain” by The Clash
“Kool Thing” by Sonic Youth

As usual each of the tracks will cost you 160 Microsoft points ($1.99). Unfortunately there is no option (and therefore no deal) to buy the three songs bundled together, so if you want them, be […]
