I just got a chance to speak with European PC FIFA ladder leader dragua, who I had never encountered before. Not being a huge FIFA aficionado (comes with the territory of being a fat, ignorant American), I was curious to know his history and motivations in the Digital Games tournament. After a long and grueling ladder phase, the GGL Warhawk competition bracket is finalized! 32 hardened squads have advanced to the bracket, but only one can remain in the end.

What better way to celebrate the birth of a nation than a with free Guitar Hero III track? That’s right folk, the good people over at Activision want to help you celebrate the Fourth of July by giving away the theme song to Top Gun. The song will be available for download starting Thursday, July 3.

Note, despite popular belief, Kenny Loggins’ “Highway to the Dangerzone” was not the theme to Top Gun. In fact, the theme is a shredtastic piece written and preformed by Steve Stevens.

Dallas Venom vs. Carolina Core

Yesterday’s set of franchise matches continued with the pattern of surprises that began with Sunday’s competitions.  Notably, OffbeatNinja beat Master, 5-2, in the opening Dead or Alive 4 (DOA4) male match.  OffbeatNinja’s win brings an end to Master’s undefeated second season record (now at 11-1).
