Digital Games: dmZfederal dethrones Paladyn, NHL 08 enters the fray
Due to the intricacies of ladder play, dmZfederal (41-18, 5730, 1L) has dethroned Paladyn as the points leader on the Digital Games European Warcraft III: TFT ladder.
Although dmZfederal doesn’t have more wins than Paladyn, who has a 47-6 record, he does have more total games played. Since players get points for playing a match regardless of winning, it’s possible to rise to the top of the heap despite a worse record.
Activity is king in ladder play, and speaking of which, there’s some more interesting news from a game that hasn’t been too active until lately.
While the number of matches in the 2008 Digital Games continues to ratchet up, higher than average activity is beginning to show on the North American NHL 08 360 ladder.
First place XFactoR88 clings to a narrow lead over codaay03, with only 40 points separating the two.
In third, Majoravsfan holds 1460 points, a 3-5 record and a 2L streak, followed by the American tsb89 (1400, 4-0, 4W).
This historically under-represented game is finally starting to show signs of life in the Digital Games program, so, hats off to them!
In another example of a slightly inactive game being resurrected, North American DoTA is also starting to heat up, with Clan Emob leading the way. They’re followed by 2nd place Team Phallic (best name ever) and renowned pro team Mug N Mouse hold on to third.
Last, but most certainly not least, knolz has regained the top spot on the European Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath ladder! Great work!
knolz took out LeOwnZAll to get it done, and we’ll have an interview with him soon.
Registration is still open for the Digital Games competition, but time is running out. July 27 is the cutoff date for the ladders. If you think you’ve got what it takes to represent your country on the international stage, hit this registration link to begin.
