Digital Games update: July 14!
With only two weeks remaining in the ladder phase of the Digital Games, many of the ranks are starting to sort themselves out. However, teams and players can be leapfrogged with ease, so danger could lurk around the corner for our ladder leaders. Let’s check out the current rankings.
On the South American Call of Duty 4 ladder, Ready to Kill Clan maintain their #1 position despite a losing record. In the coming days, however, they will face a strong challenge from brazilianclan. This all-Brazilian ladder may come down to the wire within the next two weeks, as it’s difficult to grind out a lot of matches in a 5v5 format. We’ll keep an eye on it as we move forward.
Command & Conquer 3 stalwart knolz continues his ownage in the European C&C3: Kane’s Wrath competition. He only leads 2nd place LeOwNzall by 40 points, however, so he needs to stay sharp. On the North American front, KiFireLedius holds on to his lead, as well. As an aside, be sure to read KiFire’s blog about how he feels EA isn’t supporting Kane’s Wrath. He wrote it over the July 4th holiday so many of you may have missed it.
In terms of sports games, dragua won’t be denied in FIFA. He has a 520 point lead over pavjke and doesn’t show any signs of letting up. Also, NHL 08 leader XFactoR88 has a 2L streak on the North American ladder. He’ll be challenged very shortly by 6-0 codaay03, tsb89 and consummate NHL fan Cornhusker.
Last, but certainly not least, come the RTS titles. North American Warcraft III is finally picking up, with 10-3 goodbody taking control of the situation. A much more interesting situation is transpiring on the European WC3 ladder. dmZfederal is hanging on to a shred of a points lead over Paladyn. Will Paladyn, the Polish destroyer, overcome this hairy situation? I guess we’ll find out within 14 days!
Artosis and localhost9, meanwhile, have maintained their leads on the North American and European StarCraft: Brood War ladders, respectively. Who can dethrone these gosu players?
More news as we get it…
