The deadline for the first round of the Digital Games Regional Final Brackets have been extended to Saturday, August 9, to give players/teams who have not played a bit more time.
We won’t be able to extend the brackets again, so if you do not play your match by Saturday you will be forfeited out of the competition.
If you have played a first round match, please re-report the results, as some of the results were erased in the process of extending the round.
Sony announced today that the PlayStation Home beta is expanding its U.S. user base. In order to apply, PlayStation 3 owners must check out the PlayStation Store later tonight. A new PlayStation Home theme will be released. All you have to do is download the theme and bingo, you applied.
If you live in Europe and want to get into the Home beta, Sony has good news for you. They will be adding new users by selecting people who are the most active on the PlayStation Network. So if you want in, start playing online more.

Yesterday I wrote up a news item on how SOCOM: Confrontation will be distributed. Today Sony and GameStop released some info on how North American gamers can get into the SOCOM public beta.
There are two ways to get into the beta, both of which are pretty easy. One way has gamers preordering SOCOM from GameStop. If you do it this way, you will two extra keys to share with friends. The GameStop beta keys will be activated September 1. The other way to get into the beta involves downloading the June issue of QORE, the PlayStation Network’s video show. When you download the issue, you will be given a beta key that goes live September 8.
Personally I’d go with the GameStop option. Gaming with buddies is always better than gaming alone.
