Xbox Avatars get a new wardrobe in coming weeks
Today as Xbox 360 owners powered up their consoles, they were confronted with the New Xbox Experience. One of the major features of the NXE is the new Avatar creation system. While the selection of customizable parts is relatively slim, don’t fret. Microsoft announced today that the “fashion selection” for players will double. An advertisement on Xbox Live states, “Come back every two weeks to check out new items. We’ll be doubling our fashion selection over the next few months.”
According to Jerry Johnson, Xbox Live product manager: “We’re going to be continually releasing and unlocking clothes for the next six months.” He went on to say,”They’ll be coming out in theme packs.” He did not comment on whether the new content would be free or paid.
Microsoft has stated that it plans on rolling out an Xbox Live Avatar Store by next Spring. Here Xbox 360 owners can purchase new items for their Avatars. Microsoft has also stated they it is planning on having unlockable Avatar items based on achievements.
