Fallout 3’s “The Pitt” arrives full of bugs
This morning Fallout 3’s “The Pitt” expansion hit Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live Marketplace. Costing 800 Microsoft Points ($10), The Pitt takes gamers to post-apocalyptic Pittsburgh where slavers have taken over.
Unfortunately for Bethesda, developer of Fallout 3, there have been some issues. There are reports all over the web of severe bugs in The Pitt for both the Xbox 360 and PC. According to one comment on Major Nelson’s blog: “It’s not worth it. It’s completely broken. Textures & Graphics are glitchy and bugged. There are these box exclamation points all over The Pitt map. I think someone screwed up because it’s completely bugged out. It’s like not playable after the bridge because it freezes. If you manage to get past the bridge part you’re pretty much in glitch city. Good Luck.”
Some people have reported success after re-downloading the expansion. This supposedly ensures that all 682MB are there.
I am currently trying to download The Pitt, however Games for Windows Live is acting fussy. Once I get it working, and if I have any problems, you can be sure I’ll post my symptoms and solutions here on The Wire.

The radio broadcast never happens for me, and I never get a mission - this really sucks to pay for a new place and there’s no front door except to say you “walk around for awhile”….Ive been roaming this wasteland for 2 hours. Ive even gone TO the radio tower and satelite dishes near by

I’d like to see the commenters really add something to the discussion rather than just inane generic comments.
