GGL Warhawk champion SuperCharged interviewed!

I recently had a chance to sit down with SuperCharged, AKA Steven Juste, the leader of Warhawk team ARMED^ASSASSINS. AA won the recent GGL Warhawk competition and the special Champion’s Blade melee weapon courtesy of Sony.

Juste spoke about his experiences in the tournament and shared some details about his team. Let’s have at it!

Name: Steven Juste
Age: 21
Location: Columbia, Maryland

GGL: AA has a roster of 50 people. How did you manage the team to your Warhawk victory?

Steven Juste: Our roster was easy to get–I simply showed my friend a picture of the prize and they jumped on the wagon. And these guys are people that I have been playing with since warhawk launched. I was skeptical at first but because it was easy to create a team on GGL, I stepped up and here we are now.

GGL: What is your favorite tactic in Warhawk?

Juste: My favorite tactic is to attack from the beginning of the game and take the enemy’s planes.

GGL: What is your ideal number of players in a Warhawk match and why? (ex. 9v9, 20v20, etc.).

My ideal number in a match is 6v6 simply because it’s easier to manage and individual skills matter more. You need all-around players in a 6v6. In a bigger game you can have certain players dedicated to flying, turreting, etc. but in a 6v6 every player needs to be able to see what needs to be done–and needs to get it done.

GGL: Does your team concentrate on mixed tactics, or do you stick to one type (ground assault or air assault)?

Juste: We concentrate on what needs to be done. If the only way to win the game is to take the sky, well then, that’s what we’ll do.

GGL: What was AA’s best map throughout the tournament? Why do you think that is?

Juste: Our best map is Destroyed Capital (King of the Hill), and throughout the tournament we went undefeated on this map. I think it’s our best map because it requires good ground guys and we have the guy that is number one in kills on the official Warhawk leaderboad; he’s a Deathmatch champion on the ground and once he gets in the middle base, nobody comes out alive.

GGL: What do you think of the third Warhawk expansion?

Juste: The third Warhawk expansion is a must have and with the jetpack enabled you never know what can happen anymore. All the old strategies and tactics have to be thrown out or modified. It also increases the pace of the game and allows for easier turn-around during a game.

GGL: Do gamers recognize your new Champion’s Blade that you got from winning the tournament? Is it easily recognizable in game, and what sort of reaction do you get from other Warhawk players?

Juste: Yes, the blade is easily noticeable, and many back away when I bring it out. Now all I need is a golden pistol to complement it.

GGL: Would you enter another GGL Warhawk tournament?

Juste: Hell yeah. As long as you guys have prizes, we will be there. I can’t wait for a golden pistol to complement my blade, just bring it on already.

GGL: Any shoutouts?

Juste: I’d like to give a shoutout to TW2N; he made a big difference in the tournament, and Bowzhur, BigRob415 and the entire team.
