Apoc: Command & Conquer 3 patch coming, EA’s working on ladder disconnects
Those of you out there who are slavering for a solution to the C&C3 ladder disconnect issues, Apoc’s got an update for you.
Apoc and the ladder admins are working on an updated suspension and ban list for players who love to disconnect during matches. Apoc said: “I apologize for this action not happening sooner but it’s a sensitive process and you can expect much more action during the ladder season when it matters the most.”The 1.07 patch, meanwhile, should be heading to QA this week. There’s no release date yet, because it must be QA approved, but chances are good it will be approved this week.
Lastly, the Ladder Season is set to start late August, with a full ladder reset.

dc should = loss no questions asked …. thats half the reason i stopped playing.. and wtf were they thinking last patch … 1 person dc and both get the dc stat …. its still not gunna = a loss in 1.07 so EA is still noob… for important matches(ones worth alot fo points) ppl an still dc at will with no risk to their stats or acct … they just cant do it as much…..GRATZ APOC YOUR GUNNA FIX NOTHING AGAIN … im reminded of SC when it first came out …. there was an option both players would have to agree upon …blizzard got it right whateverteen years ago why does EA always have to do things their own way…. /rant /rant /rant
PS. the year is 2007 if your still having issues staying connected to the internet .. quit gaming … does EA expect ppl that still use dial up t play ?

wow Alex, you sound like you may actually have experience coding for games… or even developing net-code. Oh wait… nevermind. In case you didn’t know… it’s actually quite complex to have computers send & receive data in sync… so either stop playing the game and move on, or STFU and be happy that EA is putting a lot of effort & resources into improving the game! SC has been out for about 10 years… C&C3 has been for what… like.. 3 or 4 months?

In Alex’s defense the disconnect penalty issue was pretty ridiculous. One only has to look at their competitors (like Battle.Net) to find an acceptable solution.
As far as disconnect frequency on the whole and game balance issues I am with you Hogan. I don’t care what RTS game it is. Even SC and SC2, that shit takes AT LEAST a year to balance. Furthermore the Battle.Net technology still holds many trade secrets invented by Patrick Wyatt that only Blizzard and now Arena.Net have access to.
It’s simply still going to take more time for people to independently invent netcode the same way he has. The only other technology to rivals it is GGPO which is still in alpha and only for fighters.
