Battleforge now in open beta
Today EA Phenomic announced that their upcoming PC trading card RTS BattleForge is now in open beta. All gamers have to do is sign up here.
The open beta grants players access to the game’s full catalog of cards as well as maps. Once the beta is over, participants will receive a special Firedancer unit for free.
Battleforge blends classic real time strategy gameplay with the strategy and social networking of trading card games. According to EA Battleforge is a “genre-changing world” and “the first RTS to combine the social and community aspects of an MMO with an exciting RTS.”
As someone who has played the beta for a couple of weeks now, I can say it is a fun little RTS. It’s not nearly as ground breaking as EA says, but a fun game none the less. I would recommend that you RTS fans go check out the beta and let everyone know what you think by dropping a comment below.

I saw you’d have to pay for extra cards, with a high chance of doubles and no chance to get them through actual skill. Awesome if you want to buy your way to the top, though!

it’s unfortunate. i can’t get behind games that let you buy “skill.”
