Dead Space Extraction announced

Today EA officially announced that it is developing Dead Space on the Wii. Titled Dead Space Extraction, the spooky shooter will serve as a prequel to the events of Dead Space. There is a new female heroine who will have to defender herself from both old and new enemies. Lucky for her, she will have access to some new weapons.

Dead Space Extraction is a first-person shooter that will take full advantage of the Wii’s motion controls. EA has stated that in addition to the single-player campaign, there will be co-operative multiplayer.

According to Glen Schofield, VP and General Manager of EA Redwood Shores studio, “We could not be more excited to extend Dead Space into an experience exclusive to the Wii. Nintendo has a wonderful history in the horror genre and we are thrilled to build on that tradition with Dead Space Extraction. As we were developing Dead Space, we realized that there was so much of the story going untold. Dead Space Extraction tells that story with all of the intensity, blood and gore that fans would expect.”

EA expects Dead Space Extraction to hit stores this fall.
