ESWC announces games for 2008
This morning in Paris, the Electronic Sports World Cup Committee announced the first pool of official games for the ESWC 2008 tournaments.
• Counter-Strike 1.6 (PC FPS)
• Counter-Strike 1.6 Women
• Warcraft III : The Frozen Throne (PC RTS)
• Trackmania Nations ESWC (PC racing)
All tournaments are open to males and females except CS 1.6 Women. Before the end of the year, the committee will announce a further list of titles that will take part in ESWC global competition.
The ESWC intends to include Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on the final roster, but they are still negotiating an agreement with Konami. They also intend to add one “pure” FPS title, most likely Quake 4.
The 6th season of ESWC begins today in over 50 countries, to end summer 2008 with a Grand Final event. Players can register at the International website.
