GGL’s SCIV Xbox 360 tournament: Important rule changes!

GGL and Namco’s Soulcalibur IV Xbox 360 tournament is going through some changes.

First, the number of brackets has increased to three. The total number of available slots in the tournament, as well as the total number of contestants flown to L.A to compete on G4’s X-Play, will remain the same. Here’s how it will go down:

Bracket 1 will become a 128 person bracket. From this bracket, one person will advance to the Los Angeles final.

Bracket 2 will remain a 256 person bracket. From this bracket, two people will advance to the Los Angeles final.

Bracket 3 will become a 128 person bracket. From this bracket, one person will advance to the Los Angeles final.

Here’s the full schedule for all brackets:

Bracket 1 (128 players down to 1 finalist)
Round 1 (from 128 to 64 players): Saturday, 10/18/08 at 3:00pm EST
Round 2 (64 to 32): Saturday, 10/18/08 at 8:00pm EST
Round 3 (32 to 16): Sunday, 10/19/08 at 3:00pm EST
Round 4 (16 to 8): Sunday, 10/19/08 at 8:00pm EST
Round 5 (8 to 4): Saturday, 10/25/08 at 3:00pm EST
Round 6 (4 to 2): Saturday, 10/25/08 at 8:00pm EST
Round 7 (2 to 1): Sunday, 10/26/08 at 8:00pm EST

Bracket 2 Schedule (256 players down to 2 finalists)
Round 1 (from 256 to 128 players): Saturday, 10/25/08 at 3:00pm EST
Round 2 (128 to 64): Saturday, 10/25/08 at 8:00pm EST
Round 3 (64 to 32): Sunday, 10/26/08 at 3:00pm EST
Round 4 (32 to 16): Sunday, 10/26/08 at 8:00pm EST
Round 5 (16 to 8): Saturday, 11/1/08 at 3:00pm EST
Round 6 (8 to 4): Saturday, 11/1/08 at 8:00pm EST
Round 7 (4 to 2): Sunday, 11/2/08 at 8:00pm EST
