Kane and Lynch brings about more drama!
In wake of last week’s astonishing news following Gamespot’s review of Kane and Lynch, even more shocking, and somewhat down right saddening news has been brought to the surface of these muddy waters.
Apparently Eidos has gone ahead and added slightly skewered quotations of reviews based on the game. Stating that Game Informer reviewed it with a wonderful five stars, and quoting “A Mercenary, A Psycopath & A Bundle Of Cash, What Could Go Wrong….”
Well for starters ,Eidos, quite a lot could go wrong. First off, a quick read of the Game Informer review will reveal that no such thing was ever said. On top of this Game Informer doesn’t even review games with the fabled star systems. They utilize a number system, and gave it a 7/10.
Next up is the second quotation, citing GameSpy as saying: “It’s the best emulation of being in the midst of a Michael Mann movie we’ve ever seen.” Of course, a quick read over of the GameSpy review article will reveal that this quote is nowhere to be found. Not only that, but GameSpy did not give the game five stars, they gave it three.
I’not so sure if the sinkhole could possibly get any deeper for Eidos, and while I am more than likely sure the PR people over there are cringing as these details surface. It seems as though gamers themselves can do no more than simply hang their heads in shame. Of course we were all doing that following any extended play session with the game itself, but that, we will leave for another day.

I just wanted to add a bit of an update on this particular piece of news.
The ratings have now been pulled from the site, so if you were to head over there, you will find they are no longer there.
