Release Roundup: July 26
This weeks Release Roundup brings two classic fighting franchises back to the front of every gamers mind.
First off there is The King of Fighters XII. Featuring twenty two characters, two of which are hidden, KoF XII utilizes its tried and true three vs. three fighting system. The Tactical Shift System, featured in KoF 2003, has been removed. In its place there is a new “Critical Counter” system. This new feature aids players by giving them a few seconds to link extra moves together when you land a close strong punch as a counter. It seems like SNK is trying to make KoF XII a more defensively based fighter.
Also arriving this week is the XBLA version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Boasting a staggering 55 characters, MvC2 features intense three vs. three fighting. The new downloadable version also comes packing some modern conventions like: online match making, HD up-scaling options, widescreen options and customizable music options. Personally MvC2 is one of my favorite fighting games. If you missed it the first time around, don’t let it slip past again.
