After much input from the community and game experts, WCG has unveiled the lineup for 2008. Some new faces in the lineup, while the classics sit down for another round of competition.

Warcraft III
Starcraft
Counter-Strike
(version not specified, 1.6 perhaps?)
FIFA 08
Need for Speed
Command and Conquer 3
Age of Empires 3
Carom3D
Red Stone
Project Gotham Racing
Asphalt 3
Halo 3
Guitar Hero 3
Virtua Fighter 5

Quite an interesting selection of games this time. WCG does not include Dead or Alive 4, currently used by the CGS as one of its staple games. The Guitar Hero 3 competition could be pretty intense too. Overall, the game pool looks heavier towards racing games.

The forthcoming year looks amazing for gamers, as a myriad of anticipated titles are planned for release throughout this year. According to the Official PlayStation 2 Magazine (UK edition): “to get from one side of the new and improved Liberty City to the other will take you at least an hour.” Although you no longer have the ability to fly airplanes or changes the main-character’s physique or appearance, the game looks extremely promising. Quake Nations Cup

Once upon the time, Quake came out and started to spread all around. There were good and bad years for Quake and especially for the international Quake scene, but now, the time has come where you Quakers get a chance to change it.

I’m quite disappointed about how big tournaments are turning around games for each year and situations where Quakers are waiting if theirs game will be added or not. Each of the Quake series games is somehow special, it’s in the scenes that are around each game and way how they are trying to bring their game to the top.

Quakeworld and Quake 4 did great in last years’ great leap. Quake 3 was hit by the merge of CPMA and OSP under one mode and there are still many players that are sticked to OSP. To help this situation [M]aniek from Poland prepared the OSP2CPMA CFG Converter. Continued…
