Much like how Take 2 gobbled up Irrational Games and assimilated it into 2K Boston, Illusion Softworks has now joined the ranks of the Take 2 army.
The newly named 2K Czech, developer of the Hidden & Dangerous and Mafia franchises, stated: “We have an excellent working relationship with 2K Games and the utmost respect for them. We are pleased to become a 2K studio and are confident that this new partnership will strengthen our current and future projects.”
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I find it kind of unnerving that all these studios are being bought up. First Pandemic and Bioware are picked up by EA. Then Activision and Blizzard merged. Soon there will be only be three major game companys, Activison Blizzard, EA Games and Take 2. Thank God there is a thriving independent games scene to battle these corporate titans.

Having taken BioShock home last night to play on my decent home gaming setup, I was pretty pleased with the way that the game not only played, but looked and sounded. There was just one problem though: I noticed that there were weird issues with widescreen and things appearing to be cropped. Apparently, I’m not the only one.

For those of us that have seen the Xbox 360 version of BioShock in action, this news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but the first review comparison of the PC version vs the Xbox 360 version of the title has been unleashed and it pretty much tells us what we already knew: the game looks better on the PC.

While we probably can sit here and all agree that BioShock looks to be one helluva game, it’s also safe to say that if you’ve played the demo and experienced the “hacking” portion, then you know how completely lame it is.
