Capcom announces Lost Planet 2

Remember last week when I wrote about Capcom announcing a new game via Xbox Live? Sure you do. Well, today was the day and Capcom made good on their word by announcing Lost Planet 2.

From the trailer, the first noticeable difference is that part of the game will take place in a rain forest environment, a stark change from the original snow covered Lost Planet.

So far, only an Xbox 360 version has been announced, however it is expected, because the original Lost Planet was multiplatform, that a PC and PS3 version will be announced shortly.

As more information arrives, you can expect to see it here on the Wire.

EA details Mirror’s Edge PC & DLC release dates

There is no doubt about it, Mirror’s Edge is this week’s hot game. Today EA made two announcements regarding it. First, the PC port will be released in Jan 09. Secondly, the downloadable content that was promised is also coming “at the beginning of the year.” This batch of DLC is not the PlayStation 3 exclusive DLC. In fact, the PC port is being shipped with the DLC included.

Xbox 360 gets exclusive Tomb Raider: Underworld DLC

Today Eidos announced that they made a deal with Microsoft to release two extra chapters of Tomb Raider: Underworld exclusively on the Xbox 360. The two chapters will add an extra six hours of gameplay and will be distributed after the games release as downloadable content.

The first chapter, titled Beneath the Ashes, will be release on Christmas and promises the usual new enemies, new environment and more story. The second chapter, Lara’s Shadow, offers something a little different. Apparently the second chapter will debut “a new kind of playable character.” Very interesting. Hopefully Tomb Raider: Underworld is as fun as it looks. It hits stores on Nov 18.
