Today EA announced that Army of Two will be getting three free maps this Thursday, May 29. The map pack, dubbed the Free Veteran Map Pack, features two new co-op maps and one 2-on-2 map. One of the co-op maps has you and a friend taking down a extremist militia in a Kiev subway station. The other has you taking down Dalton, the man who framed the game’s two heroes.

Sounds like a good piece of DLC, made even better by the price.

Today both Lost Odyssey and Army of Two got some DLC.

For a mere 200 Microsoft Points ($2.50) you can get the “Triple Bonus Pack” for Lost Odyssey. The pack includes ‘Memory Lamp,’ which allows you to view past scenes, ‘Shattered Bond,’ an antique that will bring back memories of a forgotten dream, and a ring called ‘Killer Machine.’ As someone who never played Lost Odyssey, I am assuming that this makes sense to those who are familiar with the game.

For 600 Microsoft Points ($7.50) you can get the “SSC Challenge” pack for Army of Two. The pack includes four co-op maps which should help breath new life into the game.

It’s no April fool. A demo of Army of Two hits Xbox LIVE Marketplace April 1. The demo includes both the training level as well as the first level of the game.

Once the demo is out, other downloadable content will begin to arrive. In the first pack, there will be one new multiplayer map, two new campaign maps and a SSC Challenge obstacle course. There is no official word on the release date or price of the DLC.

I can’t wait for this demo; I’ve been on the fence about picking up Army of Two and hopefully it’ll let me know what’s up.

We’ve just released Up All Night: Army of Two featuring Janina Gavankar. Up All Night is a reality tv-style review show that shows real-time reactions of gamers as they go through the game. This time around, we reviewed EA Games’ Army of Two, a new third person shooter that centers on co-op.

In this review we ask three pivotal questions:

1) Is this game worth your money?
2) How does it compare to others in the genre?
3) Does Robert Summa suck at videogames?

The entire team worked very hard at getting this review out, so check it and leave us some feedback.

Check it out at upallnight.ggl.com!

Today on Epileptic Gaming:

We mourn the loss of Robert Summa, who is missing in action at Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco. Last we heard, he was involved in a gang war between three rival sets. Here are the talking points and previews of the day, but not in this particular order:

1) Army of Two special preview
2) Rainbow Six Vegas 2 special preview
3) Up All Night: Burnout Paradise teaser (show release today at upallnight.ggl.com)
4) We’ll attempt to establish radio contact with Summa in San Francisco, probably in the midst of a firefight between five rival gangs.
5) Discussion: Are PC games really dead? We hear from one of the guys working on Spore, who makes a convincing argument…but does it hold water?

Join us live today at 7PM ET/4PM PT on epilepticgaming.ggl.com and wire.ggl.com, thanks to the magic of Stickam and uStream!

In an attempt to add further polish to their anticipated co-op title, the folks at EA and Army of Two have decided to push the game from its scheduled 2007 release time to the first quarter of 2008. Army of Two Executive Producer Alan Tascan spoke with 1UP about the decision to delay this exciting next-gen title:

The announcement is that we’re pushing the game to Q1 of next year and the reason is based on the feedback we’ve had internally and externally. We just want to add extra polish to the game — I think everyone would want that. Our job is to delight the customer and we feel that we need more time to add the polish.

… This game has been in development since — well, we started it about a year after we opened the studio, and we opened the studio in 2004, so it was sometime in 2005. It’s completely in the range of every game that’s out today, within 3-6 months. Whether it’s Halo 3, Assassin’s Creed, or Call of Duty, we’re exactly in the same range, or in some cases a little bit shorter — and we’ve built a studio at the same time.

Megapublisher Electronic Arts announced today it has signed on as an exhibitor for E For All, taking place Oct. 18-21 at the LA Convention Center.

As a result, you’ll be able to walk in and play EA’s holiday offerings before they’re released — but sadly, that list of titles hasn’t been unveiled. Either way, this time around you get to play the part of game previewer without actually being a member of the press. Good deal, right?

One good guess as to a playable E For All game is Army of Two. AofT hits store shelves in November 2007, and if it’s not feature-complete and playable by the time E For All rolls around, there’ll be hell to pay.
