EA discusses sequels and movies

In a recent interview with Variety, EA Games president, Frank Gibeau, and EA Redwood Shores GM, Glenn Schofield, stated that EA is planning sequels to Dead Space, Army of Two, and Battlefield: Bad Company.

The two also confirmed that EA is currently talking with movie studios about a Dead Space film adaptation. In hopes of breaking the videogame-to-movie stereotype, Schofield stated: “What we’re doing, say, with movie producers is handpicking our producer. We get approval on the scriptwriter, director and those sorts of things. If we get a AAA director and writer, I’m not going to tell them exactly what to do.”

I am very excited to hear about these sequels; less excited about the movie. I hate to say it, but if you aren’t going to do a direct translation of a game’s story, don’t bother making a videogame movie. What do you guys think about a Dead Space movie? Let us know by dropping a comment.
