This is just a reminder, that today the Metal Gear Online beta is now live. If you have a PS3 and a net connection, why are you still reading this? Go download the final patch, create a character and get to gaming.
Thinking about picking up the slick Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition? Well if so, I hope you don’t have a problem with GameStop, because they are the only store in North America selling them. If you preordered MGS4 LE at another store, expect a notice of cancellation.
If you preorder the game at select stores, you will not only get a copy of the Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD, but also a voucher to participate in the Metal Gear Online Beta.
Both the Limited and Standard editions will be arriving on shelves June 12, with the Standard costing $60 and the LE going for $85.

ClanBase’s featured Crysis cups are underway, and European teams have already played their first matches. U.S. teams head to battle in their nanosuits tonight.
At E for All expo I got another chance to look at Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, EA/Mythic’s upcoming MMORPG based on the Warhammer series of miniatures wargames. I last checked out the title, which has been in closed beta for about a year, at E3 2006.
Playing the demo, I felt the game looks and feels a great deal like World of Warcraft, which at this stage in the evolution of the MMORPG is praise rather than a criticism. But it’s the ways that WOAR differs from WoW, and takes cues from its origins as a tabletop wargame, that interests me.
I sat down with EA’s Josh Drescher to discuss WOAR’s genuinely innovative Realm vs. Realm combat system. Continued…

ClanBase’s DuRus sends along this important announcement:
You still have the chance to get hold of Crysis beta keys. We have already given a handful away to various people, and now is your chance to get one for yourself.

In cooperation with EA and Crytek, ClanBase is running a Crysis 6v6 beta tournament with prizes. This tournament is open to USA-based as well as European gamers.
If you don’t have a beta key, don’t fret. ClanBase has the hook up. If you have four team members with keys, you’re eligible to receive two more keys to round out your roster. Only limited quantities are available, and ClanBase can only give out two keys per team. Post on the cup forums (US / EU) to receive your keys.
Visit the ClanBase Crysis beta tournament sign-up page to register.

If you’ve been one of the lucky few to take part in the Call of Duty 4 multiplayer beta on the Xbox 360, then I have some bad news for you: Your time with the game will end on Sept. 30. Sadly, you won’t be able to play again until the game comes to stores on Nov. 5. But, there is a tinge of good news with this announcement.

Starting today, just 999 lucky Koreans are getting a brief closed beta experience with the upcoming FPS MMORPG Huxley for the PC (Xbox 360 version comes in 2008). Lasting just five short days, these proud gamers will start at level 19 and test the game’s “team death match and radar domination modes, along with more of the core structure of the MMO aspects, such as quest mode.”
Charlieoscardelta.com — the official site for Call of Duty 4 — went down today in the midst of beta key sign ups, prompting frustration and despair from the fan community.
Fortunately, someone at developer Infinity Ward is as mad about it as you are: Continued…
