Over the Winter, GGL and GameStop had a major presence at a huge snowboaring event - the 2008 Honda Session in Vail, Colorado. But now that Summer’s coming we’re changing gears and it’s TIME TO ROCK. The Guitar Hero 3 tournament is in full swing but THERE’S STILL TIME TO JOIN! Just sign up at the GGL.com Big Air Gaming League group page, join the ladder and start rocking. The winner of the tournament gets a trip for two to the 2009 Honda Sessions!



GGL and GameStop have restarted the Big Air Gaming League Guitar Hero III Xbox 360 1v1 tournament as of today, May 16!

The ladder runs until June 22 and the top 32 players from the ladder will advance to a bracket phase.  The bracket starts June 25, and continues until July 13.

Whoever wins the bracket gets a trip for two to the 2009 Honda Session in Vail, Colorado!

Additionally, there will be two more BAGL GH3 tournaments in October and December of this year. The winners will also get trips for two to the 2009 Honda Session.

GGL’s still churning on the tournament and contest front, and today we’ve got news about two tournaments and a funny contest for you to participate in.

Remember: Prizes and (more importantly) bragging rights are on the line for these tournaments/contests, so you should register to begin your odyssey into gaming stardom.

First up: The Big Air Gaming League’s Guitar Hero III ladders are up, allowing you to hone your axe skills against the best on the ‘net. A trip for two to the 2009 Honda Session is up for grabs, so what are you waiting for? Join the competition today. The tournament will repeat itself two more times this year, so any practice you put in won’t be a waste  if you don’t snag the tickets this first time around.

Also, the Headplay Gamer Face contest is currently underway. Take a picture of your Gamer Face and send it to us for a chance to win a Headplay Personal Cinema system worth approximately $500. The full rules are available GGL.com’s Headplay group page.

Last, but certainly not least, GGL and Sony are planning a Warhawk tournament launch very soon, so stay tuned for the details…

A bevy of GGL tournament news has come down the line, concerning our Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War: Soulstorm, Frontlines: Fuel of War, Big Air Gaming League and Ace Combat 6 competitions. There’s also some news about the Forbidden Kingdom sweepstakes, which could see you win a trip to China, and the awesome GGL Gamer Signature launch.

First, our WH40k tournament ends in only two weeks! You can find all the news about it over at GGL’s Warhammer 40k: Soulstorm group. Currently, Kakashi859 leads the ladder. We’ll have more news about this tournament as it comes in, but stay tuned for what will hopefully be an epic finale.

Registration for our Frontlines: Fuel of War tournament ends in five days, so the window is closing. The good news is that there are still open spots, so you can still easily secure a spot in the 32 team bracket portion of the tourney. What are you waiting for? The Big Air Gaming League will open its Guitar Hero 3 practice ladders on April 15. Hit it up now to shake off the rust and get in more practice before the competition starts.

Last but not least, GGL has launched its Gamer Signature card. This allows you to paste your GGL profile to any messageboard or website you frequent with your favorite games, contact info and more. To get started with a Gamer Signature card, register for GGL and then visit your newly created profile. Go to “My Signature” to edit your Gamer Signature.



The Big Air Gaming League (BAGL) has announced a partnership with pro snowboarder T.J. Schneider to showcase his weekly snowboard show “Snowboard Realms.”

The Big Air Gaming League is video gaming for snowboarders, skateboarders, freestyle BMXers, surfers, and anyone else who regularly gets Big Air. Pros and amateurs alike can come together here to compete, chat in forums, make friends (or enemies), check out news, videos, and blogs (or post your own!), and view celebrity profiles of your favorite extreme sports stars.

You can join Guitar Hero III practice ladders now, but keep an eye out for the official competitions - three tournament ladders scheduled for March, October, and December. Winners will earn a trip to the next Honda Session snowboarding tournament!
