The new Call of Duty 5, er World at War, will get its video debut this weekend, June 21-22 on Xbox LIVE.

Unfortunately for us fans of CoD4: Modern Warfare, World at War is set during the Pacific campaign of World War II. Of course, this doesn’t mean it can’t be a great game. Developer Treyarch plans to explore the darkest depths of war, adding a survival-horror feel to the game.

Additionally, Geoff Keighly of SpikeTV will debut the game on GameTrailers TV Saturday, June 21 at 1:00AM PDT.

Call of Duty: World of War is developed by Treyarch and published by Activision.

Today the first details on Call of Duty 5 were announced. COD5 is currently being developed by Treyarch, they guys who made COD3. The game will return to World War II and, unlike the previous 4, will put gamers in the Pacific Theater.

The setting isn’t the only new feature, COD5 will be the first in the series to allow co-op. Multiplayer is said to feature vehicles and squad based combat. Hopefully it won’t just be a Battlefield clone.COD5 is being developed for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii.

The Wii has it’s own separate development team and is said to make use of the Wii Zapper. All in all, I’m excited for this game. Hopefully the guys are Treyarch are up to the challenge. They have some pretty big shoes to fill after COD4. Read: Call of Duty 5 To Feature Co-Op, Eye Ball Burning.
