ESA raises $750K for charity

The Entertainment Software Association may be best known for putting together E3 or supporting the ESRB but what a lot of gamers don’t know is that they put a lot of work into supporting charities. Recently the ESA held their Nite to Unite fund raiser, where all the proceeds are donated to children’s charities. The latest Nite to Unite pulled in a whopping $750 thousand.

ESA president Michael Gallagher stated: “The video game industry’s commitment to giving back is stronger than ever. For ten years now, Nite to Unite has been the premiere industry event dedicated to children’s causes and honoring its creative visionaries. I’m honored that so many distinguished individuals and organizations attended.”

Gamers are often seen as selfish or greedy. It is nice to see and organization break this stereotype. For information on how you can help, head on over to Child’s Play.
