If you guys are anything like me, you can’t wait to get your hands on the trippy puzzler Echochrome. Well, lucky for us, an Echochrome demo was released for the PSP today.

How do you go about getting it? Well the good guys over at PSP Fanboy took the time to write out some easy to follow directions. Be warned though, your PSP firmware must be updated to version 3.90.

Also, the demo is in Japanese. My guess is that the most puzzling part for most of us will be trying to navigate the Japanese menu.

The directions can be found here.

Soon your favorite next-gen console will be Crying. Get it? CryEngine? Cry? I’m here all day.

Crytek has announced that the technology behind Crysis will debut on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at the 2008 Game Developers Conference.

They’ll also show the public how the engine can be run on a $600 PC. My guess is it will run incredibly badly, but it’s a public demonstration, so who knows? Maybe they can rip all of the textures out of the game so we can run around in a gouraud-shaded environment with our supersuits.

The mind boggles.

Today is the day for us average gamers. The Devil May Cry 4 demo is out on both Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network.

Average gamers usually get the shaft when it comes to previewing games. Sure, game publishers put out demo units at big events, but how often does the average gamer get to attend these?

A good example of this is with Devil May Cry 4. Lots of big blogs and gaming sites have had hands on time with the game, only to write about how lucky they were and how they can’t wait for the game to come out. All it does is make readers anxious and wait months on end to get a crack at it, which is the point, but frustrating nonetheless.

I could write a summary about how awesome it is and whatnot, but I’d rather let you experience it for yourself.

Line up your Space Marine pods and warm up the Warp portals. The Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War: Soulstorm demo has been released, featuring two new factions and aerial units.

The Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle join us in this iteration of the game. Dark Eldar revel in pain and torture, while the Sisters of Battle are warrior nuns (no kidding) that hunt demons and rogue psykers.

With the addition of Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle, there are now a total of nine armies in the game. However, you’ll only be able to play all nine if you have the previous games (Dawn of War, Winter Assault and Dark Crusade).

Personally, I can’t wait for Soulstorm to be released. Relic’s RTS games feature some of the best unit animations and models I’ve ever seen.

Grab the demo from these locations:

Crysis pre-order demo in crisisIf you pre-ordered Crysis from EA’s online store, you were supposed to be able to download and play the demo a day before the rest of the world. Instead, gamers dealt with download errors and an incomplete download.

Players who were unable to download or run the demo found a workaround: buy the pre-order a second time, then cancel the first order by phone with EA’s support department.

EA’s community managers blamed the problem on lack of communication between developer Crytek and EA.

The publisher also pushed the public launch of the demo one day; downloads will begin on Saturday.

Timeshift, Saber Interactive and Sierra’s time-stopping, Matrix-y FPS game, just got its PC demo release today. You can download it from FileShack and FilePlanet.

GGL’s Robert Summa conducted an interview with Timeshift producer Kyle Peschel back during E3 and got the rant of the century from him. You can watch that video below (check the look in Summa’s eyes when Peschel goes off).

I’ve got good news and bad news. First, the Call of Duty 4 singleplayer demo is out, as promised yesterday.

The bad news is that the download servers are crushed by people trying to download it. People who should be at work, that is; or people downloading it at work. It’s a shameful state of affairs, and I’ve decided to call a company meeting about it and not show up myself.

Try your hand at getting the demo from Yahoo! Games if you dare.
