ClanBase’s DuRuS sends word of this important announcement.

It’s 6 o’clock in ClanBase offices and all is tense, waiting for the final message; the one we have all been waiting for. The ET:QW signups finished, but that didn’t concern us. We know there is going to be something special. But will it come?

We hear the chime of an email, we switch to Outlook and the sender “Activision” stares out at us. Like a child at Christmas, we frantically view the message.

It has come!

On an almost daily basis, GGL Wire’s writers find ourselves deluged with box press releases, collectors edition announcements, launch trailers, and things that would make you angry if they were all we ever posted.

On one hand, it’s not really “newsy” news. On the other hand, you might like to know. So without further ado, I’d like to present you with a close to end of day aggregate of things that didn’t make the cut, starting with the Enemy Territory: Quake Wars launch trailer:

Splash Damage finally got around to releasing a public demo of the hotly anticipated Enemy Territory: Quake Wars today. Those of you who have been waiting for two or three years can now safely rejoice.

Badman from Splash Damage updated the ET:QW community site with some new details about the demo, which will be released Sept. 10.

The Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars PC Demo comes with the final version of Valley, one of the larger battlegrounds in the game. Set in Yosemite, California, Valley has the Global Defense Force on the attack, as they attempt to foil a Strogg contamination plot centering on a water treatment facility. Valley features a great blend of close quarters infantry action, vehicle battles and aircraft dogfights, and the varied terrain combining mountains, waterways, tunnels and industrial structures allows for many different playing styles. To top it all off, there’s a multitude of optional side missions and plenty of opportunities to try out the various defense turrets, artillery and radar deployables - Valley is a prime example of the frantic and diverse action you’ll find in Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars.

A Valley Map Guide is available to get you started. Games of ET:QW can be … a bit hectic if you don’t know what you’re doing, so it would be prudent to read up before you start playing. Continued…
