Fable II online co-op is ready

Fable II has been having a lot of problems lately. First they couldn’t get all they wanted in the Collector’s Edition. Then they had to send out a note to reviewers saying what was going to be included in the final game because they couldn’t deliver on time. Well today, one of the main problems is fixed. Online co-op will be available when Fable II launches.

Lionhead has stated that the online co-op feature is all done and awaiting Microsoft certification. This means that gamers can download a patch that will allow online co-op as soon as they get home from the store.

Fable II will hit stores Oct 21. After all these problems, I hope that it does well enough to justify the work.

Fable II Collector’s Edition loses even more swag

A few days ago I reported that the Fable II Limited Collector’s Edition was trimmed down a bit. Yesterday I posted a new item saying how a few of the features were going to be back as a downloadable PDF. Well today, the Fable II Collector’s Edition saga continues.

It turns out that the Developer diary and soundtrack will not be on the bonus DVD. According to UK retailer Game:

“We have recently contacted you regarding a marketwide problem with the Fable II Collectors Edition. We have since been informed by Microsoft that there has been a further complication.

They have advised us that the developer diary and soundtrack are no longer going to be available on the bonus DVD.”

Hopefully there still will be a Fable II Collector’s Edition before the game ships Oct 21.

Fable II gets some swag back as PDFs

Yesterday I wrote a post about how the Fable II Limited Collector’s Edition was losing out on most of the cool swag. In hopes of making right with their fans, Lionhead studios announced that the fate cards will be made available as free PDF downloads; so the most hardcore of fan can still print them out. Unfortunately the collector’s box and Hobbe figure are still gone. I guess some swag is better than no swag at all.

What do you guys think? Does this make the loss of the box and figure a little more palatable? Let us know by leaving a comment.

Fable Collector’s Edition loses swag

Today Linohead Studios announced that the Fable II Limited Collector’s Edition won’t have all the bells and whistles that were originally promised. Apparently a “supply chain issue” has forced Lionhead to cut out the collector’s box, five printed fate cards and the Hobbe figure. Because so much is being cut, the price of the Limited Collector’s Edition will be lowered from $80 to $70.

What does that $70 get you? The Fable II game disk, Bonus DVD with new ‘Making-of’ Feature, Bonus in-game content (requires Xbox LIVE®), ‘The Hall of the Dead’ Dungeon, ‘The Wreckager’ Legendary Cutlass Weapon, and Spartan armor and energy sword.

The Game will hit stores Oct 21.
