Skip the first half of this Fallout 3 trailer from Bethesda, but be sure to watch the last half’s combat. Sure, it’s not your father’s Fallout, but unlike war, games do change.
If you guys are anything like me, you love the Fallout series. There is just something about the post-apocalyptic genre that is so captivating. Well, in order to prepare for Fallout 3, Bethesda is hosting a two day film festival that features strictly post-apocalyptic movies. If you are in Santa Monica, California Aug 22 or 23, check it out. The movies being shown are, Wizards, Damnation Alley, A Boy and His Dog, The Last Man On Earth, The Omega Man, and Twelve Monkeys. All of these are worth watching.
Tickets will be sold via Fandango.com. They will be available July 25 and will cost you $10. The best part is, there will be a special Fallout 3 giveaway.

Today European publisher/distributor CD Projekt revealed a new site called Good Old Games. GOG will allow gamers to purchase old games online. The best part is, the games are DRM-free.
According to GOG: “You won’t find any intrusive copy protection in our games; we hate draconian DRM schemes just as much as you do, so at GOG.com you don’t just buy the game, you actually own it. Once you download a game, you can install it on any PC and even re-download it whenever you want, as many times as you need, and you can play it without an internet connection.”
You might be thinking, “Yeah, well they probably only have crap games.” Wrong. From the images on their site, they will be offering the Fallout series, MDK and the Freespace series. Three of my favorites. According to the site, GOG will be selling these games for $5.99 and $9.99. Not a bad deal at all. The service goes live in September, just in time to give you younger gamers a chance to catch up for Fallout 3.
Today Bethesda announced that when you pre-order Fallout 3, you’ll be walking away with a five-song soundtrack. The songs included are:

- “Way back home” by Bob Crosby
- “Butcher Pete (Part 1)” By Roy Brown
- “Fallout 3 soundtrack - Main Title” composed by Inon Zur
- “Fallout 3 soundtrack - Megaton” composed by Inon Zur
I can’t wait for Fallout 3 to come out. I have always touted the Fallout series as the best PC RPGs ever made. One of my fondest memories is waking up Christmas day to find a new computer and a copy of Fallout under the tree. Hopefully Bethesda’s creation can live up to the Fallout precedent.
Today, GameStop released details about Fallout 3’s Collector’s Edition. For $79.99 on console and $69.99 on PC, the Collector’s Edition comes with not only a Vault Boy bobble head, but a hardcover Fallout 3 Art book, a Making of DVD, and the game. All of this will come packaged in a “fully customized” metal lunch box.
This sounds like everything I’ve ever wanted. As a die hard Fallout fan, you can be sure that I’ll be picking this up.
Some of you might have picked up that I am a huge PC gamer. I’ve been gaming on PCs all my life and I happen to believe that the experience you get from PC gaming is just better in every way when compared to consoles. Call me an elitist if you will, but that’s just how I feel.
Well, as consoles get more and more advanced, critics are quick to say that PC gaming is dead. Next-Generation online says otherwise. They have posted an article on the top PC games of 2008. The list includes: Sam & Max: Season Two episodes, Pirates of the Burning Sea, Far Cry 2, Stalker: Clear Sky, Left 4 Dead, Spore and Fallout 3, just to name a few. The rest of the list can be found here.
Nothing makes my day like seeing PC gaming get the attention it deserves. If you have any thoughts on PC gaming, feel free to leave a comment letting me know what you think.
Some new concept art for Fallout 3 got released today, showing off sketches and the power armor in a badass pose. I’d hate to mess with this dude–ideally, I’d be wearing the suit. Though if things are the same as they were in previous Fallout games, you’ll have to kill the guy wearing the suit to get it…

A handful of new Fallout 3 screens came out today, showing the spooky world your character has to explore as he searches for his father. Without further ado, here are the images:
After selling the rights for Fallout 3 to Bethesda and making other cost-cutting moves, Interplay found itself with enough cash to pay off most of its $59 million debt.
Now that the Fallout 1 & 2 publisher is only $3 million in the hole, CEO Herve Caen says he’s ready to start rounding up investors for a Fallout MMORPG. Continued…
