Seikaijyu no Meikyu (aka Etrian Odyssey) for Nintendo DS, as many people in Japan expected, has earned #1 position of this week’s Famitsu game sales ranking.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl barely held onto its #1 position for this week, too.

Seven new titles showed up in this week’s ranking. The PSP title Warriors Orochi, which was expected to become one of the major titles ranked #4 this week.

The ranking as follows:

The year-end sales battle is now in full swing at every store in Japan, and strong titles are continuously coming up on sale. Dragon Quest IV (aka Dragon Warrior IV in the U.S.) has won this week’s sales battle according to Famitsu. World Soccer Winning Eleven 2008 (aka Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 in Europe) was released on three different consoles; the PlayStation 2 version is 2nd and the PlayStation 3 version is 3rd.
