Pokemon Ranger: Battonage is compatible with Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl, also for the Nintendo DS, allowing players to transfer the egg of the legendary Pokemon Manaphy to a Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl game.

Yakuza 3 (Ryuu gaGotoku Kenzan!) has earned the #1 position of this week’s game sales ranking. Yakuza 3 takes place in Edo era right after the battle of Sekigahara in 1605. The main character that player can control is Musashi Miyamoto, a legendary samurai.

This is a little offtopic, but there is a film adaptation of the game. Takashi Miike who is known as one of the best Japanese horror director who directed Audition, the best horror film ever made in the past 10 years.A new title, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption earned #3 for this week’s game sales ranking.

For those people who have read previous weekly game sales rankings, you can see that there is one factor that greatly affects the sales ranking. That’s the characters in the game. Although those titles do not last long on the chart, it is still a reason that many Japanese people (mostly otaku people) buy games.

For this week’s ranking, three new titles showed up. On the other hand, Wii Fit and other Wii basic titles sell constantly. This tells how popular the Nintendo Wii is in Japan right now.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl barely held onto its #1 position for this week, too.

Seven new titles showed up in this week’s ranking. The PSP title Warriors Orochi, which was expected to become one of the major titles ranked #4 this week.
