Fnatic picked up Clan Go in a move restoring their status in the Warcraft III world. Clan Go has had trouble finding a stable organization in the past, parting ways with NoA after their absence from the NGL-One Finals. Fnatic had to separate from its Warcraft III team not too long ago, creating a mutual interest for both teams.
Focus and Shy rejoin Clan Go after some time at MYM. Both players are top notch and produce great results, bolstering the team’s status even more. Unfortunately, Ohjie was pulled into the Korean military. Expect some good results now, with Clan Go backed by a great sponsor and with a great lineup.
Their current roster:
- fnatic.Shy
- fnatic.FoCuS
- fnatic.Space
- fnatic.MinHyuk
- fnatic.Kei
- fnatic.YanGe
The MoB TurtleForce team beat their from MoB TurtlePower in the upper bracket final of ESL’s WoW 3v3 Arena tournament at DreamHack. They are now waiting for whoever comes out of the lower bracket to fight them for $45,000 for first place.
The match attracted a full mini-stadium of people in Hall C of DreamHack and a packed stand near the ESL area. Apparently, World of Warcraft is not as bad a spectator game it is claimed. Perhaps more than in any other country, the title has got mainstream appeal. It is enough to say that the jaw of the waiter in a restaurant in the center of Jonkoping dropped to the very floor when he found out that he was serving food to Blizzard employees that made the game. GGL’s Jason Lee filed this Warcraft III report.
This year’s Warcraft 3 Champions League Finals will feature Kevin “Rotterdam” van der Kooi shoutcasting matches in English. Rotterdam is currently a top Orc player hailing from the Netherlands, and said in a statement:
“When TaKe heard I would come to the WC3L Finals as an observer he asked if I was interested in doing something with coverage, which sounded perfect for me. I could cry about imbalance as a neutral shoutcaster; that’s just a dream that comes true. I’m looking forward to the finals and hope it will be a nice show with great games.”
Rotterdam recently joined up with Serious Gaming’s Warcraft III team after the breakup of fnatic’s WC3 squad. He also placed 4th at GGL’s DigitalLife Pro/Am Tournament.
Shoutcasts for the WC3L XII Finals will be provided in both English and German. Details for the full event can be found at the ESL WC3L Finals landing page.
Fnatic’s Warcraft 3 team was disbanded today after three of its key members have left for other teams.
Fnatic did not play their Warcraft 3 Champions League playoff to stay in the competition against Four Kings today. The match was a forfeit loss to 4K.
As it turned out, Fnatic’s Russian players Robert “Rob” Abdrakhmanov, Mikhail “XyLigan” Ryabkov and Finnish star Juha-Matti “Satiini” Bäckström received offers from other teams and decided to leave the organization.
This left Fnatic with Kevin “RotterdaM” van der Kooi and Radoslav “DieSeL” Kolev and the options to either try to rebuild the squad or give up. The management chose the latter and disbanded the team. Continued…
SK Gaming has won the Swedish Extreme Masters II qualifier for Counter-Strike 1.6 to regain supremacy at home for the first time in long months. They did this by demolishing Fnatic on de_nuke 16:5 (25:5). This result looks like it could be the beginning of a new, fascinating rivalry.
For a team only about a month old, the new SK Gaming lineup is doing very well. They finished second (behind Fnatic) at the Extreme Masters II invitational tournament in Los Angeles and won the Kode5 qualifier in Holland one week after that. This week, they won all their EM II qualifying games: against Playzone, Defining Stars and Fnatic. Continued…
Fnatic got back to their winning ways at the Extreme Masters invitational in Los Angeles. By beating SK, they put themselves right on the pedestal of competitive CS.
Fnatic looked like champions from the first match on. They moved from round to round without any problems. By doing so, they showed that they are most likely the best team on earth. Their final against SK Gaming was so one-sided that their celebration after the last round could hardly be called ecstatic.
With a new team, SK Gaming was not able to get a better result than second place. A mix of players from the early 2007 SK Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas did well to get to the final. Such a good start wins them the time to work on solidifying the good shape without the pressure of their fans’ expectations. Continued…

The news of the World Cyber Games group draw would not be as interesting as it is if it wasn’t for the playoffs key. PGS Gaming will play Meet Your Makers and Roccat will play Fnatic for the WCG grand final in Counter-Strike 1.6. That’s what the playoffs key tells us as early as one month away from the event.
Of course, if we could really tell the future, we would keep it to ourselves and go to the bookies instead. We sure as hell would not tell you. Continued…
