Today EA announced a release date for Dead Space. Predictably, Dead Space will be arriving Oct. 31, Halloween. This apples only to the PS3 and Xbox 360 version; there has been no word on a release date for the PC.

Personally I can’t wait for this game. I have always had a thing for survival-horror games, however the classic zombies and mansions are getting kind of old. Hopefully space is just what the genre needed. Until Halloween, I guess I’ll just have to follow the comics to tide me over.

In honor of Halloween and Valve’s multiplayer masterpiece Team Fortress 2, GGL Wire decided to compile some of the TF2 costumes we’ve seen floating around the web.

The skill that went into making some of these costumes is great; what’s better, though, is that people are having such fun wearing them around. TF2 costumes differ from other “cosplay” by being … well, less geeky.

Of course, it’s tough to beef up like the Heavy Weapons Guy or get that Engineer’s lantern-jaw just right, but all of these are much, much better than some unfortunate video game costumes of old (here’s looking at you, Kratos). Continued…

Bungie is working on Halloween-themed content for Halo 3 this week.

Bungie’s Frankie:

Our multiplayer design teams are hard at work on a couple of things. One of them is a fun, seasonal addition to the matchmaking playlist which should keep you entertained for about 27 hours around Halloween. No specifics yet, but suffice it to say that if you want to spend your witchy holiday playing Halo 3, we’ll give you some spooktacular reasons to do so.

Nooooooo! Not House of the Dead! When Brittany awoke, every part of her lithe, tanned body ached. She tried to move her hands and feet, but they were immobile. Terrified, she opened her eyes.

She had never been inside the shack, but she recognized it from hiking through the Schwarzwald. It sat alone in a dark dell full of stunted, black-skinned elms. She had assumed it belonged to some local poacher, but now she realized the terrifying truth. Continued…

Ten Tales of Videogame TERROR!

Few know there are tales of horror unique to the world of videogaming. Here are ten blood-curdling tales of gaming horror and the macabre. Read on — only if you dare! Continued…
