After FASA Studio dissolved, many (including me) expressed disappointment at what seemed to be the end of the Mechwarrior series. Now, a brave mod team has stepped up to the challenge of continuing the series.
Titled Mechwarrior: Living Legends, the mod will be based in the Crysis engine. No, that’s not a typo. Even better, Microsoft (the holder of the Battletech/Mechwarrior license) gave the mod team a non-commercial license to develop the mod.
Mechwarrior: Living Legends is currently still in the concept phase, but it’s good to hear that someone is carrying the torch. We may get our next-gen Daishis and Atlas mechs after all.
